Marine Corps 244th Ball!

November 10th, 2019 the United States Marine Corps celebrates its 244th Birthday! As a time honored tradition, Marines celebrate with a message from their Commandant and a cake cutting ceremony. The oldest Marine in attendance takes a bite of cake and passes it to the youngest Marine, symbolizing the knowledge and culture that embraces all Marines and how it is passed along warrior generations.

Dennis attended the "Soldiers of the Sea, Band of Brothers, Inc., Marine Corps Ball as a guest of Godes & Preis, LLP, on Saturday, November 16th in Dana Point, California. Guest from all branches of service arrived in black tie or full dress uniforms to celebrate the 244th birthday party.

The Guest of Honor, Sergeant Major Ronald L. Green, recently retired from a long and exciting career as the nineteenth Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps. “SgtMaj” Green dedicated thirty-five tears to the Marine Corps and deployed to Somalia, South America and Iraq. His dedicated service inspired and guided many generations of Marines improving their leadership, technical and tactical skills he overall raised the bar on the entire Marine Corps. His remarks were inspiring, enlightening and added a levity to the entire program!

Two Navy Cross recipients were also in attendance and were introduced to a standing ovation as the ceremony began. Their citations, printed in the ball program, were both inspiring and humbling at the same time. Hero’s all the way!

As dinner was served, traditional toasts were made, and the Thomas A. Richards Memorial Beer Stein Award was presented to this year's recipient Ronald Green.

Music, dancing, drinks and cigars rounded out the evening and every Marine held his head higher as their beloved Corp added another year of maturity and experience. They look good for 244!
